New Prop Storage in our Yoga Room 💕
Did you notice our NEW nice and tidy prop shelf?

Taking a moment to return props to the wall after class is part of the practice—it’s how we care for the space and for one another. When we tidy together, we honor the shared nature of the studio and help create a welcoming, ready space for the next person who rolls out their mat. It’s a small act of mindfulness that ripples into the greater art of community care.
Teacher Spotlight: Wanda La Russa

Wanda is a new teacher joining us with chair and restorative yoga. Fohrough r April, she has been leading us through a class she has themed to honor Earth Month—teaching a class helps us get rooted, grounded, and tuned into the subtle whispers of the body. Wanda’s poetic language and the beautiful cadence of her voice guide students into a mindful journey through restorative yoga, inviting stillness, breath, and deep relaxation.
There’s a special kind of magic in the under-stimulation of restorative practice. In the quiet absence of doing, we begin to hear our body more clearly. Sensations surface, and the nuances of experience become fluid and familiar. We learn the language of our body—the grammar and syntax of how it communicates with us—which helps us meet discomfort with curiosity instead of surprise.
Wanda reminds us that in a world desperate to capture our attention at every turn, choosing an hour of inward focus can be nothing short of life-changing.
As a yoga teacher, life coach, and motivational speaker, Wanda is a passionate advocate for personal growth and holistic well-being. Her goal is to foster wellness and make the benefits of yoga accessible to everyone in the community.
Pro-tip:
Try to take a restorative class at least once a week if you can—it’s truly an antidote for an overstimulated life.
Class Feature: Whole-Body Fitness with Yukari
Brigette and I recently ventured into Yukari’s Whole-Body Fitness class—and let me just say… I was sore in the best possible way! But what caught me off guard wasn’t just the workout—it was how much fun we had along the way.
If you’ve taken Yukari’s Brain-Based Yogs class before, you know how she has this magical way of delivering instructions that make you feel both challenged and empowered. Even the simplest movements—like rotating the ankle, pointing the toes, or waving “bye-bye” to the front of the room—suddenly become powerful lessons in body awareness.
Her Whole-Body Workout Group Fitness class is designed to help you build vocabulary around your body’s movements. In her classes, you aren’t just exercising—you’re learning. Learning how your joints work, how your muscles respond, and how repetition can build both strength and understanding.
There’s a particular section (equal parts fascinating and aggravating!) where you’re learning about mobility while testing endurance. And yes… there were burpees involved—but of course, I couldn’t help but add a little Sun Salutation flair to mine (to Yukari’s amusement).
What surprised me most was how this class, with its aerobic flow and open-space energy, brought me right into that familiar yoga mindset: present, tuned in, and curious. It felt like a playful exploration of movement—lighthearted but intentional.
If, like me, you’ve ever felt hesitant about gym-style fitness spaces, this class offers a refreshing, approachable, and supportive environment. It’s a workout… but it’s also a learning experience. And honestly? I think you might see more classes like this on the schedule.
