Newsletter Mid-February 💕



Hello, Grassroots Satsang.


Welcome to Mid-February. As you may have noticed, we did not have a February Newsletter (because I was in India!… more on that below), but here we are in the middle of this month, and Brigette and I would like to update you on the happenings at Grassroots in the coming month. Lots of things for your perusal including the Bowl of Soul, Reiki Certification, Polyvagal workshops and more!

What is this phenomenon of "Burnout" that is so prevalent in the helping professions? And more importantly, how can we work to circumvent the cycle of giving that leaves us exhausted and spent? Come to this discussion to learn more about flipping the script on our perception of the important work we do for our community and how we can protect ourselves from its negative impact on our personal lives.



My trip to India.... 😍

First of all, a BIG SHOUT OUT to Brigette for holding down the fort. Her kindness and compassion enabled me to immerse myself and my studies while there. Thank you, B!


My trip to India… was transcendental. There is so much to say because I learned SO much. Surrounded by other yogis on their quest for learning and personal development, I was able to immerse myself in ancient wisdom of Vedanta for ten days. More to come from this experience, and I look forward to the ways I will apply my learning as a yoga and high school teacher.

BOWL OF SOUL EVENT | Friday 2/20 4P-7P


Evelyn Grime has been conspiring to create a coalation of goodness for our community. She has been working to bring together alternative healers from our community for one event that enables us all to fill our buckets a little bit more. Affectionately titled “Bowl of Soul,” our community is invited in for this ticketed event to experience things like chair massage, reiki, foot baths, philosophy talks, a light labyrinth, card reading, energy healing, and more, anchored around a 60-minute Sound and Restore Session with Emilee. BELLY DANCING | Limited Series

SATURDAYS | 1P


This 8-week course offers an introduction into American Tribal Belly Dance. We will start with a warm-up and include conditioning and body positivity as part of this hour and a half long weekly class. Designed for belly dancers of all levels from brand new beginners to long term seasoned performers, we will cover the very basics while diving into the fun nuances of American Tribal Belly Dance, how it varies from other worldwide traditional styles, fusion incorporation, and include a set vocabulary of improvisational cues and movements.



Dates: 2/7- 3/28 -1:00pm-2:30pm

Clase de Donación Karma: Yoga por una Causa – Partnership Carson City con Natalie (EN ESPAÑOL)


Natalie está en la Formación de Profesores de Yoga y está impartiendo 12 clases como parte de su práctica profesional. Esta clase se imparte en ESPAÑOL, pero todos los practicantes son bienvenidos. Es una clase suave, diseñada para ayudarte a conectar con tu cuerpo.


Esta clase se llevará a cabo los jueves de 7:00 a 8:00 p. m.

March Momentum

As we move further away from our New Year's Resolutions, we can lose track of what we had intended for ourselves. This is natural and due in part to the fact that we often put far too much on our plates and then put ourselves last on our list of things to "take care of."


But remember: this way of operating typically leaves you with an emotional deficit as you stagger under the weight of your life's obligations, roles, and responsibilities. We need to put the metaphorical oxygen masks on our selves before we continue to serve others. A few hours a week is a good way to invest in yourself to maintain your operating level of efficacy.


So for March, Brigette and I are designing a Challenge that will inspire you to keep you showing up for yourself because we recognize that most of us need that. When you sign up for this challenge, you will be given a challenge card with the opportunity to earn credit towards your yoga and other self-care opportunities.
