CHOOSING THE PATH THAT FEELS LIKE SUNSHINE
Spring has a way of reminding us to turn toward what sustains us.
The things that nourish us—movement, breath, community, rest, purpose—are like sunshine for the soul. They help us grow through difficult seasons and carry us from harder chapters into smoother ones.
This month, instead of focusing on what you want to stop or change, what if you simply chose what feels more true?
Maybe your truth is:
I want to be stronger.
I want to be more flexible.
I want to be more patient.
I want to move through life with more ease.
I want to be intentional with my time.
When we set our sights on what we want to grow, we naturally begin to lean toward the light.
And goodness, there is so much sunshine to lean into at Grassroots this month.
MARCH MOMENTUM REFLECTION
This last month, I have loved sitting in the seat of philosopher.
For our March Momentum participants, I composed 29 philosophical texts that arrived (mostly) in the morning—small dictums and writing prompts born from my time in India. In my two weeks there, I filled an entire notebook with lecture notes, reflections, and questions for myself and this community. My intention for March was to gently drip some of that philosophy into the hearts and minds of our students: to inspire momentum not only in practice, but in the way we approach ourselves and our lives.
The first nine messages came from a curriculum I carefully mapped out, designed to begin loosening some of the biggest friction points we face in life. After that, the writing became more organic. I began composing a week at a time, and by the final stretch, it became a daily practice of threading philosophy through my own life in real time.
March was a sticky season as we trudged toward Spring Break and, somehow already, summer. But I found myself deeply nourished by this philosophical inquiry into the Self. It became its own kind of sunshine—something steady to lean toward, even on the cloudier days.
As we move into summer, keep an eye out for more philosophy reflections and study. Returning to these bigger questions is, I believe, part of what helps us keep leaning toward the sunshine in every season.
Stay tuned for more philosophy coming this summer.
NEW REGULAR OFFERING: SOUND BATHS

Have you loved Sound Baths? Aren’t they just ooey-gooey good?
Sound Baths have been, historically, a real point of access for our Grassroots Community. Since the beginning, Sound Baths have been a way for our students to start the process of connecting with their body. Over time, the athletes in our midst have also learned to love these experiences that vibrate us from the inside out.
Erika Olivas is joining our team with her list of regular offerings. She is bringing three Sound events to the schedule EVERY month. Yipee!!

CHAKRA SERIES WITH WANDA AND STEVE LA RUSSA

Wanda and Steve are working together to create something magical for this community. In it’s third week this week, students are encouraged to explore their chakras with this limited series. Join us for this special gathering full of aromatherapy and gentle movements
This is more than a class—it’s an immersive, sensory experience designed to support deep connection and energetic alignment. Held in a safe, nurturing circle, you’ll be guided through a mindful practice enhanced by intentional aromatherapy to support the featured chakra. Gentle yet powerful yoga poses help move and balance energy, followed by a soothing chakra massage using a targeted essential oil blend. You’ll receive intuitive insight through a chakra healing card reading and explore guided journaling prompts to access inner wisdom, with the option for heartfelt, non-judgmental group sharing. We’ll close with a deeply restorative savasana and meditation, allowing space to integrate, reflect, share and absorb the shifts created during the experience. The circle is offered in a 7-week series, allowing students to explore each chakra over time and build continuity within your community. If you can't attend the full series (dates below), drop-ins are welcome.

NEW POWER TEACHER ON THE BLOCK

Strength Flow (hot yoga) | Tuesdays @5:45p.
Tailored for our students who are ready to take their practice to the next level, students will work to achieve a peak pose. Also remember all students are welcome. In this intentional practice, you’ll root into your body and feel empowered to move with intentionality through our life, like a Badass. In this class, we balance strength through core work, dynamic poses, and vinyasa.
Quick recap on Kayla: I first met Kayla through Tahoe Rising when I was fortunate to find time in my schedule 3-4 days a week during the summer. From 7:30a-8:45a, I would tap into Kayla’s class as often as I could. This process enabled me to build a concrete understanding of how I was progressing in my practice. Her classes involved working towards a challenging Peak Pose for the course of the month. She has a dynamic way of teaching that will just absolutely tickle your taste for challenge.
Check out her classes this month:
