What's up, December? How YOU doing?

Grassroots is Unfurling... are you ready?

Are you ready to grow? Are you ready to dive in on the version of you that you have been willing to come forth? Do you envision a happier, more patient, agile, compassionate version of yourself?

We are ready to help you up your game—whatever your goal is.

"How?" (you ask with an upturned smile....)

Well, that’s sort of our mission at Grassroots. 🌱

Let me take a moment to explain.

---

Satsang is word painted in white paint just above our beloved yoga room entry. Satsang is the Sanskrit compound word of “sat” for truth and “sanga” of group.

Simply, a “Satsang” is a group of people who looking to develop the True Self (aka., "self development").

When we search for truth, we search for depth of knowledge. In that process we self-develop.

So, let's talk about your Satsang.

Have you heard that “you are the product of your environment”? In the deeply studied theory of Social Learning, psychologists like Jung and Bandura posited that humans learn behavior from those around them. Their research proved that, generally speaking, individuals are impacted by what they see others do. And even though we aren’t exactly teenagers falling victim to peer-pressure, we do acclimate to the environment we are around as social creatures. We are inspired or de-spired (?) by the people we spend the most time with.

At Grassroots: we are growing a community that is all about self-improvement. ... [insert twangy customer service voice] "Also... we meet daily, and we are ALWAYS happy to see you...!"

No, but really. We are open 7 days a week AND happy to see you get into your body. You always have a seat our fitness table.

---

I believe that every time we connect with our body-- by stepping onto our mat or the gym-- we are on a very personal process of self-discovery. The process of showing up for yourself is how we fortify the core of who we are. Through our practice, we become stronger, more patient, more compassionate, more reflective, and more efficacious in our action. We practice being the best version of ourselves through diligence, observation, reflection, and repetition. Building neural networks of pattern that we can be proud of -- that’s all a "yoga practice" is, really: intentional self-development.

So how is Grassroots helping you level up on your wellness journey for 2026?

We are committed to helping you move, breathe, and connect more often. We strive to be your “third space” (Google it!) where you can really connect with the community you intentionally cultivate between your work and home spaces.

And I’ll tell you what: we are very lucky to have all of these beautiful instructors and facilitators in our Satsang. In January, our community of healers and facilitators are adding a plethora of options to our January schedule. Get pumped for the next version of you, coming soon!

Are any of these your goals?

  • Reduce pain = enjoy more freedom to move and live fully

  • Move comfortably = get on and off the floor without struggle

  • Feel less stressed = fall asleep easily without racing thoughts

  • $ave money wisely = avoid unnecessary spending

  • Build real community = have meaningful conversations

The science behind breath, movement, and social connection is those things are positively impactful in our bodies and mental health. By doing these three things regularly, we are nudging our physiological selves to be more balanced... and therefore adaptable.

And my theory is this: when you come to a place where people are hard at work making themselves better, you won’t be able to stop yourself from jumping right there with them. Thus, we have a Satsang to rely on.

So, how can we support you ?

To answer that question, Brigette and I are asking our instructors to FLOOD the schedule with the offerings they feel are best for this community. January’s Schedule is FULL, and I believe that they are bringing to light the individual dharma that each of them offer. My hope is that we can continue to expand the circle of this network of social and emotional support.

Tell us your hopes and dream by responding to this email Info@grassrootsyogacenter.com or by text ing to 775-277-2449.

New Year Coming... Create the year you want with Brigette and Patt's Winter Solstice Workshop

ree

12/21 Sunday: Winter Solstice and Yoga Vision Board with Brigette and Patt

Celebrate the Winter Solstice with us at Grassroots Yoga & Fitness Center. This workshop honors the process of giving up, giving away, giving over and giving in. Connect with our community as we embrace this transformative time of year and map a path toward new beginnings. Close out 2025 honoring the lessons and wisdom gained this year and set intentions for a new year. Listen to the soul center during a short asana, meditation and journaling session and use that feedback to create a collage vision board or map for the year ahead.

Supplies will be provided but space is limited so claim your spot early. Collage materials provided: Poster board, magazines, other images (calendars, cards, etc), glue, markers, scissors, large, sturdy paper (paper bags work great), for your mapping. But feel free to bring anything you’d like to use or contribute as well. We will also have a journaling worksheet but bring your own journal if you prefer. *We may run over time finishing up vision boards and maps.

Interested in Restorative Yoga?

ree

What is Restorative Yoga? Well, I love to tell people it’s the best class because you get to “lay down” the entire time. Typically, restorative yoga is floor-based poses that you hold for a few minutes. In my version “Breathe and Restore,” I also teach you the fundamentals of breath for your yoga practice. As breath is pivotal in your ability to maintain any yoga poses or fitness routine, I think it’s a pretty important class.

Patt Quinn-Davis will be adding Restorative Yoga with Meditation to the schedule soon... so If you would like to attend, feel free to text me, Emilee, on the Grassroots Phone (775-277-2449) and me know what times or days you would be interested in attending.

This month's restorative classes on Tuesday ay 7p are as follows:

  • 12/9: https://momence.com/l/5ehjrlEb

  • 12/16: https://momence.com/l/J1hvX7w1

  • 12/23: https://momence.com/l/2BhRlz05

  • 12/30: https://momence.com/l/BGhjLWoW

Body Thrive Book Study

Are you interested in developing better habits around a healthy lifestyle? In this book study group led by Emilee, we will explore the habits prescribed by the Science of Ayurveda through the book Body Thrive by Cate Stillman.

P.S.S: We will be hosting "Wellness Talks" with Olivia and Arbonne in January. Stay tuned.

I think that's it for now!

We will be back with you shortly in a few weeks with more updates for the New Year.

Until then, keep breathing and we will see you soon!
