Regulating your nervous system is part of your professional development

Join us in this opportunity to connect with other Educators and practice some self-care.

This yoga class is tailored for Educators and is led by teacher-in-training Amy Crittenden. In this beginner-friendly yoga class, you will explore and move the body in a safe and supportive environment. You will learn the basics of a yoga practice which will include alignment and breath. This will be offered for twelve weeks on Thursdays from 4:15p-5:15.

Amy Crittenden is a retired Educator (exited 2025) and hopes to support educators with this donations-based self-care session in a fun and playful way. She seeks to share the power of yoga and how it helped her to find balance working in the classroom.

All proceeds to go CASI. Check out their site here.

Support yourself, Amy, and CASI with a $5 recommended minimum donation to each class or register for the entire series below.

We accept Venmo, Zelle, Cash and Check for donations at the time of the class or click below to provide a one-time donation.

* Be sure to register for the classes. Your donation does not secure your space.

Meet the Educators behind Grassroots.

Emilee Riggin

Educators Extraordinaire

Brigette and Emilee first crossed paths over ten years ago in the English department at Carson High School. Both were passionate educators, often found deep in conversation about literature, life, and the layered challenges of teaching. Brigette, a talented creative writing instructor who recently retired from University of Nevada, Reno, brought grounded wisdom and sharp wit to their conversations. Emilee, still a high school English teacher, has always held a big-picture vision rooted in care, creativity, and community.

Their connection grew beyond the classroom, and when Emilee purchased Grassroots Yoga Center in January 2024, she already knew she wanted Brigette on this journey. By spring of 2025, Brigette officially joined as co-owner, bringing her leadership, humor, and love of learning into the heart of the studio.

Together, they're shaping Grassroots Yoga Center into more than a place to practice yoga — it’s become a community classroom, a sanctuary for educators, and a space to breathe, move, and grow.
